Με αφορμή αναρτήσεις και σχόλια για το θέμα των διχτυών που συλλαμβάνουν ανεξέλεγκτα αναρίθμητα μικρόπουλια η ΚΟΜΑΘ έχει ήδη στείλει επιστολή διαμαρτυρίας για το θέμα στην FACE.

Αυτή είναι η επιστολή που έστειλε και ο Κυνηγετικός Σύλλογος Αμπελοκήπων για το ίδιο θέμα προ μηνός, κρούοντας το κώδωνα του κινδύνου για μια απολίτιστη πρακτική που βάζει σε κίνδυνο αρκετούς πληθυσμούς μεταναστευτικών. Δυστυχώς οι χώρες αυτές , δεν έχουν υπογράψει καμία διεθνή συμφωνία προστασίας της άγριας πανίδας:

“Alarming photos of hundreds (and thousands) of migrating quail captured via netting are shown once more on the internet. These birds in southern European countries like my own, Greece, are well respected as asmall game. Over the years though it is obvious that their numbers seem to have plumitted both because of loss of habitat together with illegal calling devices. Worst of all by far, though, and in my personal belief which is shared by most fellow sportsmen, is that netting on the coasts of Africa and other Arab nations has made the most severe impact in their declinining numbers. As the President of the Ampelokipi Hunting Club of Thessaloniki I urge your foundation on this matter before it is too late. Swift, concrete and dicisive bilateral agreements by these nations to stop the slautering of quail, as welll as other migrating birds on the coast, is of cardinal importance and the only way to serve the principal of conservation. which we all unwavering serve”.
